#33: How I Got Back Into Photography
Hello friends and welcome back to another Friday phlog <3
I had such great feedback on the last post that I am already planning for the next album recreation! Thank you so much for your responses & comments! 🤗
Today I wanted to share a little backstory on how I got back into self-portrait photography. I first started way back in 2007 when I wanted to join a kpop group lol 🙈 (you can read more about my beginning journey here), but then I stopped taking pictures around 2015. I was going through a break up where I lost complete confidence in myself.
Skip forward to 2020 - I was in a much better mental state, was in a healthier relationship with a new partner (my now husband 🧡), and my confidence was rebuilt. I remember it was Memorial Day and I chose to do a photoshoot during my day off of work. I had no goals or plans for this; all I had was an idea in my head and I just went for it. I purchased flowers from Trader Joe’s, used twine to tie them together, and c-stands to hold it all up. Here’s my husband, Milton, posing for the cam 🥰
I remember finishing out of this shoot feeling pumped and excited to start editing the pictures. It felt like old times again ❤️🔥 All these feelings motivated me to restart photography again and the best part yet? It was that my husband was right there beside me - supporting me the whole way 🥹😭🫶🏼 Here are the final photos from that memorable shoot!
So, less talking and more of 👁👄👁
Got to capture my adorable little nieces too ^_^
And that wraps up today’s phlog! I hope this can inspire you to bring back an old hobby, even if it’s been years. Who knows - it might spark a fire and make that love feel new again ❤️🔥 And most importantly, I support you the whole way through.
Until next Friday, friends! Stay golden 🌞
Sneak peek of photo projects I’m currently working on 👀 hehehe
